About Orpheus Sinfonia
A vibrant programme featuring Mendelssohn’s sun-drenched Italian Symphony, Judith Weir’s Heroic Strokes of the Bow — its dynamic energy reflecting energetic brush strokes — and the evocative London Landscapes by the Yehudi Menuhin School’s former Director of Music, Malcolm Singer.
At the programme’s heart is Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3; dark, dramatic and with a slow movement of almost unbearable beauty. Paul Salard, the youngest ever winner of the prestigious Young Pianist Foundation European Competition, is soloist.
Experience ‘superb playing… the highest level of excellence’ (The Telegraph) in an unforgettable evening of music as Orpheus Sinfonia make their Menuhin Hall debut, starting a dynamic new partnership with the Menuhin School.
