About Surrey Mozart Players
Surrey Mozart Players bring another programme of wonderful contrasts to the Menuhin Hall, including two French masterpieces re-imagined for orchestra. Debussy’s Petite Suite, known to generations of pianists as a playful set of piano duets, was orchestrated by his friend and collaborator Henri Busser, bringing them new life in so much orchestral colour.
Graham Hall’s consummate orchestration of Ravel’s String Quartet offers a completely new take on this absolute masterpiece.
Ewan Millar, well-known for his success in the BBC Young Musician Competition, plays Stephen Frost’s lyrical and dance inspired Oboe Concerto, a fabulous addition to the British concerto repertoire.
Joining the Surrey Mozart Players on stage will be a young soloist from the Yehudi Menuhin School to play Carl Stamitz’s famous Viola Concerto. It promises to be a Sunday afternoon to remember.
