About Family Day: Pictures at an Exhibition
Ready your paint brushes as our Summer Festival Family Day gets stuck into the amazing world of art and painting. As we celebrate Modest Mussorgsky’s original masterpiece Pictures at an Exhibition, not only will presenter Keelan Carew and YMS pupils take you on a fantastical tour of promenades, ancient castles and glorious cities, but Baba Yaga – the renowned witch in Slavic folklore – will be leaving her house that walks through the forest on chicken legs to pay us a visit in the Menuhin Hall.
The grounds will open at 1.00pm, so come early to enjoy a host of fun activities:
- Garden games including giant Jenga, garden chess, croquet, boules, giant snakes and ladders, target shoot and plenty more
- Arts and crafts stations for children to paint and even learn about graphic scores with the help of our pupils
- Face painting - little ones can be transformed into their favourite princess, superhero, animal or cartoon character
- Our food partner 'Crepes 4 Events' will be serving a variety of sweet and savoury crepes from 1.00pm, while drinks and further snacks will be available from our bar
The concert starts at 3.00pm and will run for approximately 60 minutes.
